I've only been killing those that look in the ballpark for a crown. It's just that last little bastard that's eluding me. Hell, in the investigations I've done (yes, they were the 'right' reward types), I've probably come across at least a dozen large crown possible kirin. SourceI got my large crown one a LONG time ago. If an investigation meets one of those three requirements, then it should have a 6% chance of a mini crown.
In order to have a chance at a crown, the investigation has to have at least 1 gold and 1 silver reward, 3 gold rewards, or at least 3 purple rewards. Found out recently, not all investigations in the base game can yield crowns.

Sniped through an additional ~50 investigations measuring and nothing. I've killed 115 of the fuckers and only have a large. Been trying like hell to get a kirin mini crown.
